Building positive connections

In 2019-2020, All WNESU teachers, para-educators, and support staff received the introductory training to restorative practices. The first-year plan has been to strengthen and organize the great community-building practices already taking place within the school district. This effort will aligns with harm and repair tactics used when there are challenging behaviors to learn from. Trusted employees have the greatest chance to help students learn and grow from mistakes. A bi-product of this approach students to spend more time focused on learning and spend less time out of the classroom for reasons such as discipline.
